NSW Payroll Tax to Rise from 1 July, 2022

The NSW Payroll tax will increase from 4.85% to 5.45% from 1 July 2022.

The increase marks the conclusion of a temporary payroll tax reduction implemented by the NSW Government back in 2020. That temporary reduction applied for two years from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022, and was always intended to come to an end at that time.

What do you need to do?

If the Ayers Group manages payroll tax on your behalf, there’s no need to worry –
we will update our systems to reflect the change effective 1 July 2022.

However, if you manage your own payroll tax, you’ll need to update your systems to reflect this change for all your active workers in NSW from 1 July, unless otherwise advised by the State Revenue Office. Any invoices you receive from the Ayers Group will remain unchanged.
